Hats Off to Handforth Haven
The
Railway in Handforth is a must do 'pilgrimage' for Sons everywhere.
What a fine collection Nick Quinn has amassed with the help of his
regulars (see photos below). Sailors
Beware visited this hostelry on Wednesday, April 16th, when some 25
members made the short trip across town. We were
treated to a tater pie supper served on black and white crockery, in
keeping with the film period, with black and white napkins! A quick quiz
was followed by three superb helpings of Laurel and Hardy on the big
screen to complete a very enjoyable evening. Nicks' pub is now getting
a name for a very friendly welcome - and justifiably so. Thanks from
all at Sailors Beware, we hope to drop anchor again soon. |
