Chuffed at Churnet Valley
A day trip
to Cheddleton Station, on the Churnet Valley Railway
was undertaken by your "Grand Sheik" and "Grand
Loco" AKA Graeme and Geoff Green on Sunday 22nd July. A most enjoyable
day was had on a rare sunny afternoon, with a free film show
including 'Berth Marks' and a display of Stan and Ollie memorabilia
on view inside a train carriage! A number of items of Laurel and
Hardy memorabilia were purchased from the sales stall on the train
platform!
A trip was
also taken on a larger than life steam train down the
track that covers ten miles through the picturesque Churnet
Valley near to Leek and Ashbourne, plus a very necessary pint of real
ale was quaffed at the nearby Boat Inn.
The event was staged by Antony Waite, Grand Sheik of the Midnight Patrol
Tent of Hanley and his family, and congratulations must be given to them
for organising a very successful event. |
