...and what will you have Stanley? Real ale fans from the Sailors Beware Tent of Hyde visited our real ale Mecca on Wednesday June 11th… The Beartown Brewery in Congleton. The group met up at the Beartown Tap pub from where Steve, our tour guide, escorted the party on the short walk over to the brewery. Although claiming not to be an expert, Steve gave a very informative talk on the history of the brewery and the techniques used brewing our favourite drinks, punctuated with amusing stories that would not have been out of place in a Laurel and Hardy two reeler! Then it was back to the Tap for a choice of many Beartown ales. Two drinks were included in the cost of the tour, which was excellent value for money. A very friendly and enjoyable evening, Sailors Beware highly recommend the tour to all real ale lovers. |
